POOR MILLAGE Sign In

I HAVE A 99 FORD RANGER 4X4 4.0 100K . GET BAD Mileage CHECK ENGINE IS ON. WAS TOLD IT COULD BE ...
HIGH AIR , POOR GAS INTAKE, POOR IGNITION. I HAVE REPLACE THE PLUGS. 1 ON DRIVER SIDE AND 2 ON PASSENGER SIDE HAD HEAVY BUILD UP ON ELECTRODE. BOOK SAYS ITS FROM ADDITIVES IN GAS. C E L WENT OUT FOR A WEEK AFTER CHANGING PLUGS, NOW ITS BACK ON DONT HAVE THE CODES FOR U. WAS TOLD IT COULD BE A LEAKY MANIFOLD......WHAT DO YOU Suggest THANKS

Note on fuel additives: They should mostly be avoided and finding just 3 plugs fouled isn't additives. If anything for prevention I do like and use Chevron's Techron fuel treatment but less than half of what bottle says and only now and then. Bad habit but can't help it, my own driving is frequently slow and short trips for what I need to do.

Don't believe the wild claims of additives for much of anything. Get what codes that are stored as Hammer said,
