Sign In 1996 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0L non turbo 120000 miles my 1996 eclipse struggles when its idling, sounds like its misfiring. check engine light comes on...reads p1390 and it's running very rich. that explains the rough idle however it doesn't explain why when the motor gets hot she stalls out and wont restart. she's been parked for over a year and a half now, when all this started happening my car was running rich first, then my headgasket was leaking and had to get that replaced. when i got my car back it was still running rich, tried a few different things at that time. it was aslo having trouble staying in idle when it was cold, i'd have to play with the accelerator to keep it from stalling. then approx 6 months later i was driving down the road and all of a sudden it sounded like it was starving for gas and died then it wouldnt start back up again. and now soon after both fans come on she stalls out and dies then wont restart. what could be causing this? i've tried changing: o2 sensor (bank 1, the one under the header) egr valve coil spark plugs computer checked for vacuum leaks if anyone needs clarification or has any questions please dont hesitate to ask i've taken her to several different shops and no one knows what to tell me, not even the dealership. please help me if you can. thanks, jen Hammer Time Ultimate Carjunky / Moderator May 15, 2010, 1:03 PM Post #2 of 4 (1886 views) Re: PLEASE READ!!! me and my stalling eclipse need help!!!!
