Oil in my antifreeze. Sign In

I have a 93 chevy camaro with 3.4 engine. It has 205000 miles on it. (100,000 on a rebuilt engine.)

I noticed recently I have oil in my antifreeze. I was scared it was also might be in my oil, but I let my car settle overnight, drained a little bit of oil out of my oil pan, and did not see any antifreeze. I just wondered what could possibly be the cause of the oil leaking in the antifreeze. It is an old car, just wondered if it worth getting fixed. Thanks.

Doesn't look like this has an oil cooler in the radiator. Could it, possibly, be transmission fluid in the radiator?

Actually it is a good possibility. I know it has a transmission leak, just from the fact it goes low. Is this an easy fix?

If it is, in fact, transmission fluid leaking into the radiator, you'll have to replace the radiator. Transmission fluid is routed through the radiator for cooling purposes. If you look at the radiator, you'll see the cooling lines connected on one side.

To add: "Oil in Antifreeze" for whatever reason and likely the radiator as Loren suggested if that design for trans oil cooling then hurry as oils will soften all rubber cooling system hoses, water pump seals quickly!
