Oil Saturated air Filter Sign In

Hi guys,

I have a VW Citi Golf 2006, 80 000km on clock and its a 1.4
The car for the last 2months has had to be jump started every morning. Furthermore while driving home yesterday
it started cutting out and needed high revs to stay on. I then had a look inside the bonnet and notice that my
air filter was saturated with engine oil.

If anyone has any idea's please share.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Oil Saturated air Filter Sign In

General info as I don't know the exact car but no matter. There should be some system PCV to keep crankcase are in a very slight vacuum via PCV valve in general. If even normal blow-by past cylinders exceeds that then oily fumes CAN get into air intake with possibly resulting in an oily mess including air filter.

For low miles of this it shouldn't be so worn out but rather an issue with PCV system. Cheap way to tell is hold a cigarette right at dipstick tube and smoke should go in, not blow back at you,

T
