I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Diamante 3.5 engine. It has 142000 miles on it. The problem that I have is it will not turn over. I've charged the battery and still nothing. I have good power to the radio and lights. I've also tried to jump it by crossing the two plugs on the starter with a screwdriver but still nothing, I do however, get a good spark when doing this. The car has been sitting idle for a year but it always started without any problems before. I also tried tapping the starter with a hammer to free it up, but this did not work. After I return the key to the run position I get a click from the relay switch/fuse box located in the engine compartment on the passenger side of the car. If it is the starter, please tell me how to get the dang thing off. All I see is one bolt. Is there more??? Thanks!

You need to have the battery tested first. I'm suspecting you are jumping the wrong terminals at the starter also. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
