I've got a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 2WD 2.2L with a cold air intake kit and dual exhaust. It started running rough and started missing so i changed the plug wires and plugs, fuel filter and the ERG valve. No Good. So i checked all of my compresion in the cylinders and i have between 100-125p.s.i. in the first 3 cylinders and none in the 4th. I squirted some oil in it and tryed that. Yet again no good. It has 221,000 miles on the motor. I was just wondering if i should put a new cylinder head on it or if i should just find a motor somewhere and do it that way. I would greatly apreciate any help and or advice you can give me. I'm at my wits end! Mad
thank you very much,
Adam Smith-Urbany

p.s. if you know of a good 2.2L motor around let me know!!!

Sounds like you might have to pull the head to find out dor sure what the problem is. If you can get your hands on a borescope it will help you figure exactly what has happened. It is also a possibility there is a hole in the piston also. Good luck with it.

Could it be a displaced valve (rocker kicked off)? Try using a sparkplug type airfitting that screws into the sparkplug hole and pressurize (try to atleast ) the cylinder. Or remove the valve cover and look at the rockers. With the miles you have on it maybe you need to rebuild it or replace it. Mine made it to 352,897 miles before the #2 piston started dissintegrating from the bottom up to the oiler ring.
