Need engine compartent diagram for Ford F-150 5.4 Liter Triton V-8 Sign In

Hello all,

I have the following truck,

Year of vehicle: 2000
Make of vehicle: Ford
Model of vehicle: F-150 XLT
Engine size: 5.4

I am in need of a diagram of the engine compartment of my truck (Ford F-150 5.4 Liter Triton V-8). Specifically one that shows in detail the pulley configuration with the pulleys labeled.

I am in need of this because the bottom left hand pulley is seizing up and I need to know what this pulley is controlling so that I can replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Tim

No to insult you but if you're having trouble even identifying the component, it's probably well beyond your ability to fix it.

I know my initial post may have lead you to believe that however I am almost 100% percent sure it is the A/C compressor that is acting up and I have swapped them out before. I am very much a novice but am unafraid to dig in there and get my hands dirty. I just want to double check myself prior to jumping in. With the economy the way it is these days I don't want to be almost 100% sure and run the risk of making a mistake which is why I was looking for a diagram to solidify my hunch.

If you are correct about your assumption, that would put this job WAY beyond your ability. If you have a locked up compressor, then you will need far more than merely swapping out a compressor to get that system to work again, even though I think even that would be something you're not prepared for. You don't even have the require recovery equipment to capture the refrigerant. You need to defer to someone that has auto A/C experience.

Ditto, totally agree.
Probably time to get this truck to a pro.
No insult indented, just stating facts.
Some things a novice can do and some they can not.

There is a few different 5.4s for that year. This for the 5.4 L (8th digit of the vin#).

I don't know if this is what you are looking for.

As the others have mentioned just be real sure of what you are working on or you could actually wind up costing yourself more $$$$$$

Seriously - If you are having any doubts as to what item is what this isn't for you IMO as others have said. You probably can minimize troubles if it is the A/C compressor by pulling relay (should be marked underhood) IF AND ONLY IF CLUTCH TO IT IS STILL GOOD BUT INSIDE IS SEIZED.

Generic pic of an A/C compressor...........

Keys out, engine off - see if the outer plate will spin by hand. If not that's highly suggestive of seized compressor which is a whole job to fix not just replacing a part. These run even in cold weather when defog, defrost are requested AND can at other times too which I won't get into.

It and whatever pulley or problem causing belt to screech or be anything but right will prevent use of the vehicle,

T
