Need Help Toyota 4runner

I am in need of some assistance. I have a 1989 Toyota 4runner 3.0L V-6. It runs really well when it runs. Ever once in a while while driving the engine hesitates and sometimes dies. When it dies it will start again but will rev up and immediately stall out again. It will always start and if you try to give it gas it revs up to about 3000 RPM and then it stalls out even if you keep on the gas. If you let it sit for 30 minutes or so it will start again and drive fine until the next time it decides to stall out again. Please I need help. I am at a loss. I have not replaced anything on the engine yet. I dont want to just start replacing parts. Also I have spark on all cylinders. Thanks in advance.

I suggest checking the fuel pressure next and proceed from there.
