My engine moves when I shift gears

I have a 1991 VW Golf Automatic. 200,000km 1.4L
I had my car running and I shifted from park to reverse and a weird hissing sound occurred. So I popped the hood and realized when I shifted from Park to reverse or anything the engine would shift up and down but hold in place. It almost looks normal but I am usually not that lucky.
Is this a problem?

Not sure without being there to see what is going on. It could be a motor mount problem. One way to check motor mounts is to have someone brake torque the engine to see if engine mounts are broken.
