I need the name of a part that is missing, and all I have for the description is the location. I believe it would be a triangular part with three bolt holes. Its location is the intake side of the head, just below and to the back of the intake manifold, and would attach to the side of the head. What I see on the head is three bolt holes in a triangular pattern with a square port hole into the head in the center of the bolt holes.
This happened after what I believed was a successful head gasket change. 2 months after, it suddenly started to make a loud thrump thrump as if there was an open exhaust. Before I removed the intake this time I felt this area and it was producing hot air. I think I made a mistake when tightening the bolts and it removed itself, because the noise did not come for so long after (being driven frequently).

i am assuming you are talking about the EGR valve but kind of hard to tell from the description.

Checking the link deleted you will be able to find out which part is missing, this is usually the dealer’s responsibility and they should have detected the missing part before selling the car to you. Always demand for an inspection before deciding to purchase a vehicle only to find it has missing parts later.

Brad - the person did the job on his own vehicle that he already owns and is missing a part. He didn't just buy it or have it done somewhere. The link is about inspecting a car/truck not about which part is missing that between the lines isn't preventing it from running but he wants it back on properly,
