Miss fire on a u4 cyl 98 nissan Sign In

I have a Nissan 1998 looking for info as to spark delivery. getting a misfire on number 4 cyl. it has had new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires put in it. unfamiliar with this car and don't have it front of me. but know the misfire is right because I scanned it several days ago.

Maybe you just need to go back to the car and get some accurate information. You are asking for very specific information about an engine but can't seem to supply accurate information.

They never made a 4 cylinder Maxima

Yeah, you got the engine size wrong on that too. It's a 2.4.

This just has a basic distributor type ignition system. Use a spark tester to see if you are getting spark on that cylinder. If you are and the plug isn't cracked, then do a compression test on that cylinder and verify injector pulse.

Another thing to look out for is a leaking intake gasket on those, especially around the intake runner on number 4. Pretty common problem.

compression is at 150, got spark, voltage to injector, with my stethoscope I'm not getting ticking on the injector until I bring the rpm's up a bit but it seems to be intermittent. possibility a week and or bad injector

What are the ohms on all the injector coils? Is your injector losing control or power when it doesn't sound like it is working?
