Have you tried getting the injectors pressure cleaned?

In addition to the injector service, I would suggest getting the codes pulled to see if you can narrow done the problem cyls, If just a P0300 pops up you many need to find one that can look a the miss history...

Re: MISS JUST OFF IDLE Sign In

Probably would be easier to do the poppet valve conversion instead of wasting your time cleaning a crappy poppet valve injector unit.

If your lower intake gaskets are leaking, which most do because the gaskets turn to puddy, you might want to reseal the lower intake if you do the injector.

This is a 98. Doesn't it already have sequential injection.

Re: MISS JUST OFF IDLE Sign In

No, it had this from the factory:

Poppet style injector unit with all six injectors in the housing. As you know the poppet balls were prone to sticking from the carbon and EGR discharge causing no starts and misfires.

The conversion is this:

Injectors relocated to the ends of the tubes and poppet nozzles eliminated. Injector hats keep the tips from clogging. No worries.

They both are sequential firing. The newer style injector wasn't seen in those trucks from the factory until after 2003.
