Hi All. I have 1996 toyota Corolla SE Limited, and whenever I use the AC the idle starts to fluctuate
real bad. It makes the car vibrate to a point close to stalling but it has not stalled.
What could be the problem?
Any help will be appreciated.Frown

See if you can see the idle speed motor working. Investige that if you can't see it work. T

Thanks for the reponse. I will definetly check this with the
mechanic. But for my own edification, where do I find the idle speed motor ?

DanD could probably show you a diagram but you shouldn't need it. With a buddy hit your gas pedal and watch what moves - in a 96 Toyota it should have some device that controls the idle from imputs from all sources available. A/C is a big drag on your engine and needs this to keep you from stalling.

Wish I could say I knew everything about every car - but it should look like some kind of motor that does a push/and retract thing as it told to. The trouble could be just wiring but it needs to work. I don't think we can go much further without knowing about this thing. Good luck, hit back with your findings, T
