I was driving an automatic Hyundau I20 and all of a sudden there was like an explosion smoke came out from under the hood. Pieces of metal went on the floor and also oil. My Bosses said that I changed from drive to second and it is not the case I didn't do that type of of manouvre. What could have caused it?

First you have to find out what happened before you can ask why it happened. Have the car inspected and find out exactly what blew up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks for the reply. As long as I know a Cam-Shaft and some Valves blew up. And two holes in the block of the engine.

That still makes no sense at all because the cam and valves aren't even located in the block.
