How is everyone doing today? I'm working on a 93 Nissian pickup,4 wheel drive , 2.4L, 4 CyL 133,231 miles The timing chain guilds are worn. I bought the timing kit to do the work. I haven't started the work yet, but the auto repair manual says, that I have to take the oil pump out, water pump, exc. The oil pump is bolted to the timing cover. I have an engine oil pressure gauge, so checking the oil pressure won't be a problem. These isn't my first time doing a timing chain job. My main question is how do I prime this oil pump when I finish this project.

I wouldn't even worry about it. The engine isn't starting dry and it will have pressure almost immediately when started. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Unplug the electrical connector from the distributor and use the starter to crank the engine to prime the pump and get oil to the rest of the lubrication system. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
