Ok im not a car person so if you could make things a little simpler that would be great... So i recently bought a 93 Mercury Grand Marquis with a 159k Miles on it for $600. Only problem thats wrong with it is its burning a little bit of oil. I want this boy to run for at least another 4 years IF possible. Besides a major tune up, not beating on it, and general care what else do you guys suggest i should do / replace? Thanks in advance fellas

That's a bit of a conflicting statement there. You bought a car with 160K on it that burns oil and you want it to last 4 more years. You should have bought one that didn't burn oil and had lower mileage. Those 2 things can't be changed. You can try to baby it but you already have 2 strike against you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Just change the oil at regular intervals and add some STP or equivalent with the oil to slow down the burning.

If you want it to last a long time don't do any mods. Maybe just a K&N factory style air filter.
