I have a 2005 Jeep grand cherokee with about 75k miles, that won't start. When ever I turn the key the car isn't even turning over but the interior lights still come on when i open the door so I know it isn't the battery. The gauges are spinning in circles too and keep spinning even after I take the key out... any ideas what it could be?

sounds like could possibly be starter,, does it attempt to crank when u turn key.. does it do this intermittently? .. other possible causes could be bad ground somewhere maybe something as simple as to a blown pcm fuse..

Have you tried to jump start the vehicle? The starter takes about 200 amps top turn. The interior lights take about 5 amps. So a weak battery can allow lights to work, but not start the vehicle. Try jumpstarting to see if it will strart. Also check to see that the battery connections are clean and tight also. May be a fusible link blown to the starter also. Let us know what you find out.
