Hard to start/revs by itself/whitish blue smoke Sign In

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7HO w/ 114k. It has a few problems I will list seperately in case they are not related.

When I start it, it cranks for a moment like its not getting enough fuel, then sputters before it starts. When it does it revs up to about 2200.

When its idling, it will start reving on its own. I have also noticed RPM change while driving steady and flat.

It also smokes sometimes. The smoke is white, maybe a little blue. It starts smoking when the idle starts going crazy.

There are no trouble codes. I tested the IAC valve and it's fine. I tried back probing the MAP sensor and am getting very low voltage .1v or .2v. Could this be it? What other sensors could I check? Would an O2 or temp sensor cause this?

Thanks!Wink

Have you had to add any coolant or has it overheated recently?

Not a drop. Just checked it again and still completely full. The temp doesn't get any hotter than 210, I guess that's what thermostat it has in it.

Has the check engine light come on at all?

That's strange. With what your describing the computer should be picking up on that stuff. Check it over for any vacuum leaks and then check the fuel pressure while your trying to start it so you can see what the fuel pressure does during this problem.

Just checked it. No gas smell

I did a flash reset on the computer and it was better for a little bit, but then the wierd idle and smoke comes back sometimes.
