My 1995 Buick LeSabre is smoking from the back of the engine (Not alot of smoke though though it seems to stop after a while) and I have been told by from the previous owner, who was a mechanic, that it was something to do with the valve gaskett cover. He said all I would have to do is tighten the bolts or replace the part that goes inside. I am not completely sure that its going to fix it. The car runs and drives nice other than that. I also have to replace the A/C Heater Control Module. It has alot of miles, it is around, 230K. My grandpa said that if the car was properly taken care of it should be ok, but I am not sure that it was. The engine looks clean, but he could have just pressure washed it.

Well it sounds like it might not be too serious of a problem

What you are going to have to do is track down the oil leak & fix it..... If it's something as simple a leak on the exhaust, just inspect the pipe and there should be some residue for the burning on the pipe.

I would suggest replacing whatever gasket or seal is leaking. A lot of times if you tighten a bolt down, you are overtorquing it and wind up splitting the gasket and make the leak even worse.............

TIGHTENING THE BOLTS WILL MAKE IT LEAK WORSE. WASH THE MOTOR THEN RUN IT FOR A SHORT TIME AND TRY TO FIND THE LEAK. I USE A VIOLITE SYSTEM BUT THE DIE IS HIGH
