I have an 81 Grand Marquis with a 351 in it. My cats and mufflers were leaking so I cut the cats out and put in two Flowmasters. It sounds good but when I give it a quick rev I get a popping sound. I understand that this is because I cut the cats out which made me lose my back pressure. So my question is if I put a couple glasspacks in where the cats used to be would this give me enough back pressure then? I have had many people tell me to do this but I want to make sure that it will work. Thanks

What you have done is against Federal law and we cannot advise on illegal modifications.

The reason I changed my exhaust was because the police said it was leaking to much. It went thru the inspection last week and passed so im just looking for help not to get shut down.

If you want advise. Put the converters back on the car.

I am not exactly sure why you even reply on these forums Hammer. I have read a lot of different topics and you seem to be putting people down for just asking questions. Don't be so angry and if your gonna put people down just dont reply. We just want your opinion, not for you to magically fix the car right away. Just a suggestion.

Nobody is putting anyone down. The facts are that we don't advise people on illegal modifications and substituting anything for a catalytic converter is illegal.

I'm going to lock this thread now. If you choose to ask any more questions, make sure they are legal.
