Ok, So recently my car took a dump, it cut off while driving.
I changed the cam shaft pos sensor, egr valve, evap selinoid sensor, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires. It has spark cause I shock the hell out my finger testing it. Still crank no start. So now I'm looking at the fuel. When my car cut off I was running low on gas. Fortunately I managed to maneuver my car into the parking lot @ Autozone. The guy was kind enough to let me use a loaner gas can to put a gallon of gas in the tank. Still wouldn't start. When I turn the key I can hear the fuel pump engage. So I hooked up a gas pressure gauge, it didn't budge. So I'm guessing a failed fuel pump. Upon removing the gas tank I noticed there's hardly any gas. So my question is, How much gas should be in the tank to get a decent pressure reading. Maybe the fuel pump is good I just didn't have enough gas in the tank to build up pressure? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

First off, you should never let your tank get below 1/4 tank or you WILL be needing a new pump.
In tank fuel pumps are cooled and lubricated by the fuel in the tank. When you run a car out of gas or very low, it pumps a lot of air through the pump which overheats it and causes some severe wear and many times, failure when they cool off.
You will need to use a fuel pressure gauge to verify this

So true and personally at the age and miles with that happening wouldn't trust the fuel pump if it did perform with more fuel. BTW - ONE GALLON WILL NOT WORK in many vehicles that run OUT. They can use a tad more than that while running, sloshing around now still one gallon is below where it can pick up fuel.
HT said pump (many types all over things not just vehicles) can't run dry if new it would fail,

Why don't you try putting gas into it first.
It amazes us how someone can use their hand to grab something capable of putting out 35,000 volts....................... hurts, don't it.

Suggestion on the pump: Now this time to do that YOU DON'T WANT A FULL TANK! It's almost impossible to empty some and way too heavy anyway full.
Do yourself a favor now and put product called Power Blaster for penetrating oil on the straps where you need to undo those. Get some "electric" grease for the plug to pump and any wiring connections while out.
Missed your spark test. Sure works doesn't it? Simple spark testers are dirt cheap so if you are going to do a few things get one of those too,

No, don't fill it up right now but I would but 2 or 3 gallons in it to see if it will run. You may have to give the tank a rap with a block of wood to free up the pump.
