Ford Press fit coolant tube question. Sign In

I am wondering if there is a tool to remove the press fit metal tube on an E-350 ford van 1999 that lives on top of the manifold towards the back (can end).

There are a couple of metal pipes that coolant runs in and one of them is press fit (I think it's steel tubing) into the manifold. It's towards the back end passenger side where the pipe is pressed into the manifold if you are viewing it from the hatch you remove from inside the cab. It looks a bit larger than 3/8" perhaps it's 1/2".

In the case I'm talking about this pipe sheared off level with the top of the manifold and was pressed in so tightly it did not want to come out easily.

My question is how this part is supposed to be removed. Is there some tool like an inside the pipe "puller" or any proper method do remove it or is chipping it out with a hammer and screwdriver the only real option to remove this tube?

I'm not a mechanic so I hope I described it good enough but I don't know the proper name of this part. I do know when it gets a pinhole your coolant will fly out of it pretty quickly....

Thanks for any help you can give me.
