Falcon AU III - Possible blown head gasket or welsh plug

Hi everyone, I have an AU Series III and recently as soon as I put water in, it leaks out again. I've tried using camiweld and that did nothing. I've been told by a couple of mechanics that it is either a blown gasket or a welsh plug behind the engine (or possibly both). It's had a fair amount put into it relatively recently, within the last few years it's had new spark plugs, alternator, radiator, brakes and more. I was quoted at least $1000 to repair by a couple of mechanics and I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I don't really want to hang onto it if things are just going to keep going wrong. Sorry if this is off topic for the forum, I'm just looking for some advice from someone who knows more about cars than I do. Any advice would be really appreciated.

We don't have that vehicle here so we can't tell you anything specific and we can't know the condition or value of your car to advise you on fixing it or not. We call those plugs either freeze plugs or expansion plugs and what I can tell you is where there is one bad one, there are many more due to do the same thing so if you are planning on repairing one, then you should consider changing all of them at the same time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I think this is the body of a US Taurus but not sure what engines are used. Still, $1,000AU$ = about $800USD today wouldn't be too much for head gasket(s) but would for a "Welsh plug" so what's the story - which is it? You need a real diagnosis for what it needs first. Those two items are different issues but a head gasket could bump up in cost when apart seeing problems not seen till apart and you should be told that in advance. Actually the price reflects just tossing in a gasket set and high hopes just that works. Machine shop is always suggested to check cylinder head(s) as you didn't say if a 4 or 6 cylinder if it was available and I can't know that from here, T
