2004 Ford F-150 5.4 Trition V-8 80,000 miles My husband's truck's engine is making a "knocking" sound. Also, hesitates when pressing gas, like stalling. Dealer mechanic thought the injectors were the problem, later said it would not fix the problem.

Off the top of my head, I know these Trition engines have had spark plug ejection problems. They blow out and wipe out the coil. If a plug has loosened up in the head, that would give a knocking noise, if the coil was taken out, that would give a hesitation. If that's the case, and the dealer couldn't find the problem, time for a new mechanic. lol Steve
