Engine blocks are usually marked somewhere that would indicate the model year of them. I don't happen to know where these are marked. If you switch to another model year if what you say is so that only 1999 will take certain parts you'll regret the swap if it can work out at all. Salvage yards have the software to know what parts or whole components will fit what model years, T _________________________________________ Tom - "Be yourself. There are enough 'other' people"

This is the only info released by the manufacturer. - Identification can be made through the use of the Broadcast Code label on the valve rocker arm cover (1) and the use of the partial VIN etched on the left side of the engine block above the starter (2).
- The broadcast code identifies the engine, transmission, and vehicle relationship. The partial VIN identifies the specific vehicle by sequence number.
All engines and transmissions are stamped or laser etched with a partial vehicle identification number (VIN), which was derived from the complete VIN. A VIN derivative contains 9 positions. A VIN derivative may be used in order to determine if a vehicle contains the original engine or transmission, by matching the VIN derivative positions to the accompanying positions in the complete VIN. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I would guess it was built in January or either '93 or '03 according to the date of "013" I don't have the definitions for any of the other codes.
