The problem started last night and what happens is that when I turn the car on it starts normally but it will turn off right away. I thought the car might be out of gas so i put about 3 gallons in it and it still doesnt start. I was hoping someone could help me troubleshoot the car or point me in the right direction. The head lights, radio and A/C still work. It stopped working all of a sudden because I tried to start the car about 45 minutes after I had just used the car and it is parked on a flat slope under covered parking.

Were you close enough to have really run out of gas? Some cars are real fussy after they run dry and might take more than a few tries or perhaps have to purge air out of line but most should finally run again if truly was lack of fuel,

Did you get a new key with a chip? If you did not program the new key, then this is what could happen. Also you stated that you were parked on a slope. Some cars have sensors located in the oil pan that measures oil, if the oil is low, the sensor my be killing the engine to save it. Low Oil No Run. To program the chip key (GM, only one I know) insert old chip key in ignition and start car then turn off and with -in a few seconds or right away, restart with the new key. This is if you have a chip key. Hope this helps.
