Engine troubleshooting Sign In

I have an older Izuzu Rodeo. I was checking the oil and the dip stick had a gasoline smell to it, should I panic???

Change the oil and monitor it to see if it's happening again.

Does it ever run rough, such as on start up? Is the check engine light on?

Re: Engine troubleshooting Sign In

Runs rough at start if it's real cold out, no check engine light has come on. I know it's about ready for an oil change, so I will do that asap.
Thanks everyone for your help, this site is awsome !
I have this place book marked on my PC, lol Crazy

Re: Engine troubleshooting Sign In

If you don't have a leaky injector, it probably would hurt to pull the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose and check for raw gas after the vehicle sat.
