Engine sputters while accelerating.

For some reason my car, 2000 dodge neon, begins to sputter during acceleration. The more I accelerate the worse the problem (one time even cutting off). Any suggestions?

Frequently that's weak secondary wiring or components. That is the plugs, wires, coil - etc. If you've never done these start with the plugs, then wires - a coil could last forever so let that stay for now. There's also a cap and rotor in the mix that also could be involved and aren't that costly. Replacing these won't hurt anything and if your problem persists hit back and we'll try, Happy New Year, - T
