Engine shaking/coolant boiling over: 1999 ford windstar

almost 200,000 miles!
Heres whats going on: my car started boiling anti-freeze over the reservoir and over heating. Kept refilling it, kept boiling over. While i was driving down to the auto parts store to pick up a new thermostat the engine started knocking and shaking really bad, to the point where i'm afraid to drive it. It still starts, and will drive around the block, but thats as far as i'll push it. I've literally tried NOTHING yet, expecting the worst.
Is this a easily repairable problem, or a death sentence?

It sounds like you're a little late for trying anything. It's time to tow it to a shop and get the bad news. Don't be surprised if you're looking for a new motor.
