2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali; replaced the alternator and battery twice but dash gauge(volt meter) will show charge for a bit then a discharge until engine is shut off and restarted again, where or what is the drawdown? have over 2000 into this problem.

I don't believe anything is drawing anything down. The charging rate on this vehicle is determined by the BCM and ECM and the system will turn on and off as needed.
This is probably normal operation but I would have the battery tested to be sure.
