93 Cutlass, 135k 3.3. Power quit. Driving along and would not pull hills. He suspected fuel pump or filter so he changed both. No better. Symptoms- hard to start, idles fine and dies when put in gear. I felt the exhaust flow and it seemed o k. Plugs & wires next?

Hi Tom. Was starting to feel snubbed but didn't know why. It was the control module that the coils bolt to. He sure was happy, I had one on hand.

Nobody regular here is snubbing you! Orig post was seen and if one of us regulars doesn't have something useful to suggest we would leave the post alone for a while. We aren't here 24/7 either and ALL volunteer thier suggestions. The long term value is what a fix was for archives or the thread is really a waste of space. No harm ever intended from me anyway, T

You weren't snubbed. We just didn't have a good answer. I never would have suspected an ignition module with your description of symptoms. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I might mention that I was in the middle of replacing my living room floor when this guy (neighbor) came over wanting me to look at his car. When I say replacing the floor, I mean the floor & subfloor was out on the front grass. I was looking a floor joists and dirt. But HE had to have his car fixed! I'm sure none of you have ever been there.
