Citroen Xsara fuel feed

I have a Y-reg Citoen Xsara 2.0 HDi with a fuel feed problem. The engine keeps cutting out at very irregular intervals - it can run for 5 mins or for 3 hours then just cuts out (it's quite dangerous on Mways). I then have to give it some time before it starts again. I've just paid for a new fuel pump and had it fitted but the problem persists, so obviously not a pump problem. Any ideas, anyone, as it's got me stumped. Many thanks for any reply

When it comes to diaging any no start condition you have to figure what is missing when it's not running. Get fuel pressure tester and get fuel pressure reading Check for spark It would also be a good idea to get codes pulled while it's acting up to help you go in a direction.
