Hey Guys,

I really need help. I'd appreciate it alot if you could somehow give me a general diagnosis of what my problem might be.

I have a 99' Toyota Tacoma SR5 3.4L V6 (Manual) I was doing about 80-85 in fifth obviously hovering around 3k+ rpms, when the Check Engine light came on. I slowed down and made it home without issue with the light on. It's my dad's, soon to be mine, so I'm hoping I didn't F**k it up and piss him off.

I'm aware it's an old truck and probably shouldn't be pushing 90. Anyone have an idea on why the light could have come on? I'm hoping it was just maybe overheating? No smoke or anything though.. I was doing about 80ish for a minute or so and getting up to speed hitting about 3k in every other gear. Any idea's? Thanks in advance.

1st step would be to go to a parts store or shop and have the codes pulled to see which on set
