Car sometimes hard to start.

2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8L,About 140,000 Miles
Ok i am the only owner of this car and i will own it out right in 2 more months(Jan)..But i have a lil issue and it's been like this since i owned the car...I brought this up when it was under warranty but just pretty much got the run around so i delt with this issue...But since i found this site and seems to have great helpers i am going to throw this question out here...Sometimes when i go to start my car it just cranks and cranks and cranks...I turn key off then back on...Off then back on then i crank it Zoommmm...Starts right up...And this is what the service manger told me to do when i complained..(I hate sales people)...This does not happen all the time...But for a car that was brand new when i bought it and it seems to have gotten somewhat a lil worse kind does not make me feel good.......Anyone got simply test to try to solve this issue...?...I can live with it but would like to rid the problem...Thanks Tony..

Tricky and wos that this has been there since new and stayed the same!
Guesses unless caught staying broken but perhaps the ignition switch itself could have the flaw as that's what you are turning - the assorted other items involved aren't being retouched when it works on a subsequent try. Do you feel like putting in a new switch and wait to see if that was it? Not sure what else to do if it works with another try??

Ok tom i am liking ur thoughts and help....Price on a ign. might be high to not want to bother now...But i would also like your thoughts or others on this one...After reading other post with along the same prob(Car won't start)...I was wondering if the fuel pump could be seaping the fuel back into the tank(Yah know kinda losing prime moreless)...Then by me turning key on then off then back on if that is making pump prime the system.....Cause as i stated if i go on a 30 mile trip pull in parking lot go in store for say 5-10mins return to car and go to start it sometimes it just cranks and cranks...So i then turn key off and on a few times and starts np at all....I will see how much a ign..is if it's not to expensive i don't mind the work....(Just a thought i wanted to ask in this post about the pump)..Ty Tony

Install a fuel pressure gauge and see what reading you have. Then search for what it is supposed to be. Take your reading with the first key on cycle. Then read it each time the you cycle the key. If it climbs each time the key is turned on, more than likely the fuel pump is bleeding off. Good luck.

being an owner of a sentra. its your fuel pump. they are notorious for being weak. the next time you get in the car, turn the key to acc and listen for the fuel pump to cycle. then start it. guaranteed itll start right up.

Ok here is what i found while plucking hard last night....I had to download adobe reader to receive this bullentin
And just as i was thinking but was unsure fuel pump issue,Also thanks for your advise dmac0923...

Well if anyone else ask i have the full file downloaded to my puter....What i posted here is only a screen shot of the first section....I called dealer today and that repair kit cost 230.00 from dealer and is not a recall so money out your own pocket is what will have to be spent..Tony
