I installed a new distributor in my 1979 Ford 150 351 modified. Tried to start the truck and the gear on the bottom of the distributor sheared off the pin and now the distributor is stuck and won't come back out. Any ideas on how i can get it out?

A first for me! Hmmm? This suggests the dist isn't just stuck from decades of being in the same place as you just installed it and sheared when cranked - right? Perhaps if you turn engine a smidge by crank bolt the opposite direction of rotation or back and forth it may un jam it. Just one sheared roll pin in that era of years of those engines did just come out with the sheared pin. This seems like the pin is inact but may have shifted out to one side. Not real sure how I'd approach that. If dist started to come up and stopped I might risk it with more force hoping any broken parts come out too or are retrievable - arggh! T
