Hello Everyone, I am in desperate need of someone that is really good with cars, I placed this want awhile a go and received lots of great help, but I am still at a lost. I am a NAVY Recruiter, with a wife and 5 kids plus one on the way, and my car broke down on the way home from work. with the size of my family I can not afford to take my car to a mechanic and have it fixed nor can I afford to go out and buy a new one, I have been trying to figure it out myself but at no success. When I was driving home from work my radiator hose popped off, then my check engine light came on, by the time I could get off on a side road my car stooped running. I filled it back up with fluid and tried to crank it over but it would not fire up, so I towed it to my house, I then ripped it apart to check the timing belt and it was still intac, then I checked to make sure that it was getting spark to all cyclinders and it is, then i checked to make sure it was getting fuel and it is, I also checked all the fuses on the entire car and they are all good, so now I am at a lost again. can someone please help me out with my problem? Thank you Randy

Year, Make, Model, engine, and miles would help. It will help to know how hot it got when the hose let go. If hot enough the book is open to possibilities. Check engine light might reveal a pertenant code to help but it would have come on if run hot for a minute too long. Tell us some more and perhaps some things may be more likely that others for a specific vehicle, t

Sounds like excessive pressure in the cooling system, unless the hose just burst, but if there were a blockage in the radiator or the thermostat were stuck it can cause excessive pressure, this can in severe cases cause head gasket issues especially if there is allot of miles and the gasket has any weak spots already, this in turn forces the fluid anywhere it can to escape the pressure built up in the cooling system where the back up creates such intense pressures. If this did in fact happen, it could have hydrolocked your engine thuss not allowing the engine to start. Pull the plugs, all of them and see if they are wet, then turn the car over several rotations to try to blow any water out, then disable the primary ignition system and or the fuel injection system to prevent dumping fuel, then perform a compression test on every cylinder. take three readings on each cylinder and compare them one to the other. IF they are all the same, something else is amiss,. ,, if they are not say one is at 20 or 40 and the reast are around 100 then this is your suspect cylinder, also compare the spark plugs see if any of them look "Cleaned" this is usually the one that got wet and scalded by the coolant. Any -please''' list the year make and model.
