Brake Light Question

I have a 2009 Toyota Matrix. The brake light went on today. Brakes appear to be working fine and the brake fluid is at the maximum line. What could be causing the brake light to go on?

2009 is a tad new for any history of problems. Many brake warning lights share the light with the parking brake being on. Check that it is truely off.
Hey - it's not a joke so don't ignore this and I can't even advise driving it till you have it solved. It must be under warranty still?
