Blue smoke Sign In

1987 4x4 2.9 5spd Ford Ranger 139,000 showing. At start up and acceleration blue smoke blows out the exhaust. Will MMO,Rislone,or anything else help clean the valve seals enough to slow this down until a proper repair can be made? Any suggestions will be appreaciated.Thanks.

Re: Blue smoke Sign In

I think all your going to accomplish there is to make it even worse. You likely have worn valve guides and dried out valve seals and not much is going to help that. Even replacing the seals would likely be temporary due to the worn guides. It may take a complete valve job to resolve that and even then you could have ring wear also. You would be smarter to look for another motor.
