Search Auto Parts Search Acceleration issues in lower gears Sign up here!   Email This Post Auto Repair Home>> Automotive Repair>> Engine Troubleshooting Mike2015 New User Aug 9, 2015, 6:36 PM Post #1 of 4 (1115 views) Acceleration issues in lower gears Sign In i have a 2012 Honda Civic coupe 1.8l 5 speed manual transmission, The issue that I am having is when I accelerate in first second or third gear my car will bounce hard at around 3000 rpm the bounce is less intense as I go up in gears this only happens when I'm accelerating hard, however if I accelerate easy past 3000 rpm to 5000 rpm and then accelerate hard it will bounce as soon as I accelerate. The other thing it does is after it bounces hard in first gear or second gear and I continue to accelerate without letting off the gas it will continue to bounce heavy like if I was bouncing my foot on the throttle repetitively. These symptoms started happening this spring after a winter or extreme snow, I hade so much snow built up under my car that it melted and froze a gaint ice block under my engine around some electrical connectors which ruined my brake controller by shorting wires. I'm wondering if maybe I have a sensor causing this issue, I have search out this problem and one that sounds similar is broken engine mounts but I checked mine and the seem ok, so times the issue isn't as bad as other times, but I'm not doing anything differently either.
