I have a 1999 Monte Carlo runs great , till tach hits 4000 ,eng starts to act like it not getting fuel just falls on its face It want to spit and cough/backfire tilll i let off pedal any ideas , I got no codes showing

Sounds like the rev limiters......normal...design intent....
