99 grand prix gtp no engine light but has this issue

ok i fixed a ton of things on my 99 grand prix gtp. the last confusing issue was fixed which was two broken wires on ignition module,engine light is no longer on but my car when cold and mostly first start of the morning,it surges and and acceleration when cold it sputters/cuts out. I am so confused and out of money! and the exhaust smells terrible
