Kept checking dipstick - oil level fine. started up this morning - loud rattling and oil dripping much faster. oil level appeared fine on dipstick though. backed out of driveway so other car could get out, started losing power when pulling right back in. oil loss seems to start from top left side of engine. already replaced engine at 95,000 miles - about 4 years ago. everything fine until recently. donate or fix - please advise Hammer Time Ultimate Carjunky / Moderator Nov 3, 2010, 7:05 AM Post #2 of 3 (2425 views) Re: 99 explorer engine rattling and losing oil Sign In Common sense should tell you that if you see oil on the ground, it has to be missing from somewhere.
