99 dodge dorango engine trouble	Sign In

i have a 99 dodge dorango 5.8l v8 that i just went on a long trip and it started giving me trouble... after driving about 40 mins or so it will start sputtering and i will have no power, it doesnt die but idles very hard....had it towed home and started cheking it out, it was low on coolent and oil... i added both and it fired right up and drove it around the block a few times.. on the way back from the trip it did it to me two more time... from start all about 30-40 apart. just pulled over let it sit for 10-15 mins then it drove fine again and all fluids and batery were fine . any clue where i can look next???

Get the codes pulled and post them here. Exact code numbers please, not just the generic descriptions.

I would guess he means the 5.9 as I doubt anyone Frankensteined a Windsor into this. Never know though.

i didnt have the dorango with me so i guessed it was 5.8 but it is a 5.9... and i am working on getting the codes...
