Ok so it sa crappy day in ohio and I am off of work so i figured i had time to fix our family car. About a week ago The ole lady had the car out and about after driving it to 2 places then stopping at her last stop. She got back in the car and swears it wouldnt start she checked the oil and it was low so she added oil to it and said it didnt start still. I wasnt able to get to where the car was becuase i was home with the kids,i sent my mechanic buddy out to take a look as soon as they tried to start it he said yup its you fuel pump. I needed to get to work so i just told him to get it towed back home. The tow truck driver couldnt get it in front of my house due to some other cars in the way.So later that night we went out there and it started right up trusting my friend i figured that i would just let it sit out infront of my house untill i had the time and money to replace it,but today i went out there and again it started right up i drove it around the block twice shut it off then it started right back up again,i contuined to shut it off and restart many times with no troubles now im starting to think maybe it isnt my fuel pump. I do know enough about car repairs that i can do everything my self. Im thinking maybe the spark plugs and wires my be bad but why would it start right up today? I own a 98 ford taurus lx 3.0l with dual over head cams if anyone can give me there insight i would apprecate it im thinking of going to the parts store and getting new plugs and wires for it,but i dunno if that will fix my problem the check engine light isnt not on and it first broke down on the ole lady shes not dumb about cars but shes not smart either please if anyone can help give me some tips. Thank ryan in ohio

Was the engine cranking over but not starting? Or was it just completely dead? Need to know what it was doing at time of no start.

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
