Here goes. Having a problem with a '98 ford esscot wagon, 2.0 liter, auto trans. Sometimes rough idle, runs up rpms if I feather the gas pedal, to a point then boggs down, sounds as if it is trying to backfire, sometimes will die inresponse to this, seems to fire back up ok, some rough idle then smooths out or sometimes idles rough and dies again. Have changed fuel filter, pcv valve and replaced bad hoses there. Service eng. lite came on once and it coded, fuel injectors, o2 and maf sensor. Tried replacing the o2 and same problem. seems to be similar to crimp111's trouble from nov. 2006. any help and where is maf sensor so I can try tapping on it, How do I check fuel pressue, where to get gages, etc.. any help would be greatly appreciated! The generic MAF, O2 codes do not help. There is not a code that specificlly donates a problem with the injector, just for injector circuits. Thanks.
