what do i look for to fixs this it started out of the blue any sugestion would be helpfull thank you

has your check engine light come on?How high is your ide?If so have codes read.There are memory codes and also (KOEO)key on engine off codes and(KOER) key on engine running codes.Autozone and advance read memory codes for free.A scan tool with enhanced capabilities can do koeo and koer tests.May have a vacuum leak or faulty idle bypass solenoid or solenoid is stuck open.I used to spray with carb cleaner the needle valve.Check codes/check for any vacuum leaks.Try disconnecting idle bypass solenoid and see if idle comes down.If you had a scan tool you could look at idle bypass solenoid parameters.They make a tester that you can manually operate the idle solenoid to see if change in rpm/it does gm ford and chrysler.Might find one used on ebay.let me know answers to questions above.
