98 dodge neon sputtering over 50mph and losing gas mileage! HELP! Sign In

I have a 98 dodge Neon 2.0L SFI DOHC 4cyl. The care is just under 175,000 miles. A few months ago after I put in a new battery and alternator, the neon started to shack when accelerating over 50mph. Once at around 2.5 rpms it will suddenly drop and go back to normal. Or sometimes the car will just shack over and over. I can park it and slowly raise the rpms and it does the same thing. Only less shacking. Its also using a TON of gas. I can fill it up, go 30 to 40 miles, and be on empty the next day. Also the car as yet to throw any error codes at all. No engine lights coming on or nothing.

I have replaced the following parts on the car to try and fix it.

fuel pump ( since a 98 neon has no fuel filter )
Plugs and wires
Trans filter
Oil pan gasket ( It was bad so I replace it )

I have ran tons of fuel cleaner and had it took to shops. No one can figure it out at all... I know its a fuel issue, cuz the gas mileage is out the roof. If I can't get it fixed, I'm going to have to sell it. Its getting to the point I can't afford gas for it.

Also just a note. the 98 dodge neon uses a fuel pump and fuel accumulator. Once I replaced the fuel pump, it helped a lot. The gas mileage got a bit better and the shacking was less often. I don;t know what else it could be.
