98 Monte Carlo Fuel Leak Sign In

Hi, my girlfriend's 98 Monte Carlo 3.1l is leaking fuel under the hood.

I have circled in red where the leak appears to be coming from:

I would upload the photo here but it isn't letting me.

What is the most likely culprit here and how difficult/expensive is the fix?

The fuel pump pressurizes the lines enough that it runs fine, but it's wasting fuel and smells like gas when running, and is probably a fire hazard too so I'd like to get this fixed ASAP.

Thanks

Edit:
I think I have learned that it's the fuel pressure regulator. But from observation, I can't say for sure that the regulator itself is the leak. There is certainly wetness to the point of some pooling toward the bottom of the regulator, where it is shaped like a bolt head. But I think there is more of a steady drip near it, but possibly a few inches toward the back of the vehicle.

Couldn't get the pic but doesn't really matter it has to be fixed. If this leaks (anything that is leaking it) it's a total bomb waiting to happen. I couldn't give accurate pricing place to place anyway if I knew exactly what the cause was,

I can tell you that it is the fuel pressure regulator but I can't speak for where your leak may be. It probably is the regulator.

Re: 98 Monte Carlo Fuel Leak Sign In

Further research makes me think you must be right. I plan on leaving the car parked until I can replace the regulator tomorrow.

Anyone have buying advice on these? This is the GM 3100 engine so I'm sure plenty of people have replaced these... I have O'Reillys and NAPA and a low budget. So my choices are BWD brand or Delphi brand.

I saw the Delphi was way cheaper on Amazon but I'm taking off for work Sunday and need to have it done by then. So it's one of those 2.

I don't think it's going to matter. Delphi used to be a derivative of AC Delco but it isn't any more. Obviously the beat way would be OEM Delco but I don't have a preference between those two.
