A couple of month ago, the check engine light on my '98 Galant with 102,000 miles came on. I took it in to a local shop and was told it was the Idle Air Control unit, and referred to the dealer. About 2 weeks later, I took it in to the dealership they verified I needed a new IAC unit at $454, and possilbly a new computer for an additional $780. So far, I'm in for $600 with nothing accomplished. At this stage, is it worth getting repaired, and what are the chances of NOT needing the new computer. Thanks

EGAD!!!!! The prices! No maybe diagnosis for $780 for the computer. If you do need it check out used. I guess I've lived with an angel on my shoulder because when some part got that expensive I went to my local junk/salvage yard and got it for near nothing, T
