my car died on my while i was driving it. before it died, when i accelerate the car would jerk; kinda like when you step on the gas too fast when you let go of the breaks. that happened for about 2 weeks before my car actually died. when it died, the car can still be turned on but just wouldn't drive or reverse, i checked the transmission fluid and it was empty so i filled it. the car can drive and reverse again, but when i accelerate the car jerks like before it before it died. the car died because there were no transmission fluid but now it does. so i don't understand why it still jerks when i accelerate. Please help!!!!

I take it this is about the trans not the engine running - right? You need to know why the trans was low on fluid and if it's properly full - when low enough it takes a couple tries of add, check, shift a couple times, and check and add again till stablil and full. If it still doesn't behave the leaking item could be the problem or caused a problem up to and including needing a trans overhaul. Hard to say right now. AutoZone has an agreement with AAMCO trans for courtesy trans diagnosis if you arrange that they sent you which would be worth it now, T
